Exotic, practical, unusual or exciting. How creative can you be with your giving to make prizes for people that donate to “Get Loony?”
A “Volunteer Coupon” lets you donate treasure and adventure. An “Epiphany” lets you donate fun. Volunteer coupons have an amount of loonies needed to purchase. Epiphanies are bartered. Volunteer coupons display a reciept on your phone and can be exchanged for goods or services. Epiphanies let you engage in skits, sports, karaoke challenges, contests and adventure. A volunteer coupon might say “Donate 2 dollars (8 loonies), get $5 off your hamburger”, “roller blades 100 loonies”, “wash your car 50 loonies”. An epiphany might say “Darts 50 loonies”, “I will bet 100 loonies on checkers”, “My crew will sing a sea shanty and do a pirate jig for 200 loonies.”
To stimulate donations with creative giving, think way, way outside the gift box. If you are in a band, you could auction the singing of a song with the band. If you have a fishing boat you could auction a lake trip. You could auction landscaping or the clean-up of a the Chatahoochee. If you are a caterer you could auction a feast for a “fun raising” event. When you create a treasure, prize or adventure, the nonprofit gets 100% of the real money. You get loonies in your account when somebody trades loonies for the treasure, adventure or fun you created. You then trade the loonies for anything else or use them as a high score for other prizes. The loonies shrink by 15% each time they are used so eventually somebody will have to donate again.
