If you had an activity in your place of worship, school, public park or business you would choose Sailor moderation. If you were in a sports bar you would choose Landlubber moderation because of the alcohol, cussing, loud talk and more. If you were at a backyard party you would choose a Pirate as you decide on how wild you get.
There is one more level, Sailor broadcast. This is content that meets broadcast standards for the TV series "Special Heroes." If somebody had a logo or trademark on a T-shirt along with music playing in the background and it appeared on video, that video would not meet Sailor broadcast standards due to trademark and copyright violations.
If you filmed on private property without a location release, that would not meet Sailor broadcast standards. If you recorded public conversations that could violate the eavesdropping laws of some states that would not meet the standard.
Every person on your team must have a genuine registration. This all purpose registration includes waivers, next of kin, a model release and more. In addition, everyone at the Pirate Dive Bar is 18 or older which means they are of legal age to sign such a release.
Special Heroes is meant to have a strong "G" rating for family content. If there is anything that might be PG, then because it is questionable, it does not meet the standard for "Sailor Broadcast."
What is a venue?
Think of a volunteer fire station.  Could it be described as a flash mob volunteer event?  You get notified online then respond close to you.
A venue is an online volunteer location.  It doesn't need approval from anyone to be created.  Showing up and meeting in person at the venue is a whole different permission issue.  If you want to create an online venue for your favorite sports bar, dog park or place of worship you can.
If you watch the mission video you know how easy it is to display a QR code on your phone to register people for your venue.  You can also print the QR and display it or post it to social media.
Lets say you create a venue for your apartment or HOA clubhouse.  You can trade kids toys and clothes, find ride shares, organize pool parties, house sit dogs and organize fun and adventure.  You can also organize volunteers and be prepared to respond if needed.
Lets talk about volunteering.  We have three types.  The first is the serious type that we just call a volunteer. They help their community in times of crisis  similar to a volunteer fireman. The second is a volunteer that spreads good cheer.  We call this a Loony Volunteer.  The third is an Atlanta Volunteer.  Our mission is to turn Special Heroes into Super Heroes.
Attitude is the difference between an ordeal and an adventure.  Loony volunteering that spreads good cheer and raises your spirits should begin everything. You might not be suited for high stress dangerous disaster volunteering, but you can do your part to volunteer to spread good cheer to those who do that type of volunteering.
All three types of volunteering need training, preparation and communication.  Venues have bulletin boards so you can organize or participate in local activities.
There is a very special type of Volunteering coming up in just over a year.
The Atlanta Volunteers would like to ask you to volunteer for the 250 th birthday party of the USA on July 4, 2026.  You can do anything you want, this is self guided volunteering.  We hope you become active and create a celebration for others.  Your goal should be anything that joyously celebrates this great country and spreads good cheer and good deeds.  Celebrate with the whole country by starting with the neighbors next to you. Create a venue close to where you live to plan your celebration.
