Watch the “250th birthday” video. Then at the top of any page click on Treasure. On the Treasure page, click on the example or create your own volunteer venue. Visit the kennel. Adopt a dog. Select the volunteer mission that says “basic training.” Train your dog. (30 minutes to watch the video and 5 minutes for the basic training of your dog.)
At the Great American State Fair, a treasure hunt is like a potluck dinner at a birthday party with a treasure chest for gifts. When you click on a person you see what they are bringing, when you click on a venue you see who is at the party, the fun, food and games.
Landlubbers are 98% of the people wandering around the fair. They just scan a QR code or click a link to share good cheer. Pirates are 1% of volunteeers who create the QR codes and links. Sailors are the 1% that set the party up. The British called our marines “scurvy dog pirates.” They were the first volunteers of our military and on Nov. 10, 1775 the marines were born in a bar, a notorious pirate dive bar in Philadelphia Pennsylvania called the Tun Tavern.
Our mission is for scurvy dog pirates to turn Special Heroes into Super Heroes!
